Villa Cahn is situated in a prime location directly on the Rhein River in Bonn-Bad Godesberg. This building, which is similar to a castle and dates back to the middle of the 19th century, stands under monument protection legislation. It had been left to deteriorate since 1979 until a new owner took possession of the grounds, which cover approximately 10,000 m², and contracted for extensive renovations that had become urgently necessary. In addition to windows and to ceilings decorated with paintings as well as wooden carved figures (which had all been substantially damaged by vandalism), sanitary and heating systems also needed to be replaced. The original heating system consisted of a series of large open fireplaces which heated even decentral parts of the villa utilizing air ducts. In 1997, 260 m² of this historical structure were refurbished with the MB-Estrichsystem using flowing screed, with particular emphasis focused on the 14 meter high entry area as well as the serpentine cellar with its narrow passageways which was converted into an extensive Whirlpool swimming and leisure-time area.
This historical building now incorporates the latest in heating technology in accord with the slogan found on one of the fireplaces: "Whether rich or poor, I'll warm you all!"
