In 1995 in Evry near Paris, France's newest cathedral was dedicated. An outside diameter of 38 meters and a height of 34 meters lend the brick cylinder a form that has elicited much discussion and left no one without an opinion. The interior diameter of 29 meters accommodates 1,500 worshippers in box seats and another 800 in the interior.
Architect Mario Botta: "I intended to construct this project as a house of God but also in the hope of building a house for people." Supporting the hope of this architect are 800 m² MULTIBETON floor heating embedded under the black granite of the cathedral floor.
