Following extension of the German Red Cross building in Niederkassel, a new motor vehicle facility was also built, including a heating system with MB-Thermobeton. In accord with the planning of Linscheidt Engineering Offices, 245 m² of this system was supplied by MB-Partner Gaspers GmbH, a long-standing associate.
The motor vehicle facility is heated by concrete core heating surfaces. Following the fixing of steel elements in the flooring structure during shell construction, the MULTIBETON heating pipes are laid and fixed according to manufacturer specifications. Pipe spacings are set according to heating capacity output of 45 W/m². Connecting piping with a lead-in to the heating circuit distributor was installed with no extensionability.
The distributors were designed as distributor and collector with a two-piece basic body including a a thermometer connecting head and KFE stop-cock (with fine adjustment valves) as well as a ventilating valve; also terminal connectors (using threaded joint connections), all in a wall mounted and locked distribution cabinet. Two room thermostats were installed in the motor vehicle facility which maintain room temperature at about 15 °C.
