Malek Jan Nemati was born in the Kurdish part or Iran in 1906 and died in Paris in 1993. The synchretic prophetess supported human rights and the rights of women and acquired the epithet of "Saint Janie".
She was buried in Baillou, which belongs to the department of Loir et Cher, on a 4 ha site called "La Gaulerie" provided by princess Camilla Pallavinci. Since it was completed in 2000, the tomb designed by the architect Frédéric Roustan has developed to become a pilgrims' place.
There, a pyramid supported by stainless steel coloumns rises from a square sub-construction with a side lenght of 14 m. Large glazed areas provide for transparency and closeness to nature. A heat pump, coupled with 90 m² of MULTIBETON underfloor heating and cooling of the very flat MULTIMINCE system, takes care of a constant temperature. The quality in terms of style and material of the building also convinced the Agency for the Protection of the Countryside, granting a special permit for erecting the building which is unique in France.
