Pershore Abbey has been a centre of Christian life since the year 689. The oldest visible part of today's abbey originated during Norman times about 900 years ago. Pershore Abbey is one of the most beautiful examples of Norman and early English architecture.
In 1990, rents in the southern transept and leaks in the old iron heating pipes became worse. In 1992, renovation began. Archaeological examination then uncovered further information about the history of the abbey including the exposure of a saxon foundation. In 1996 440 m² of MULTIBETON floor heating was installed and flooring was completed with a stone surface.
