The Sport Hall in New Sydney Showgrounds was constructed in New South Wales in 1996 for the Olympic Games 2000. As the only hall on the showgrounds, "the Dome" has a climate control system which was installed by MB-Partners MULTIBETON Ltd. from England and Triple 'M' Mechanical Services Ltd. from Australia.
Of the 7200 m² floor space, 648 meters in the middle of the 42 meter high hall are cooled using MB surface cooling. Cooling pipes are fastened to steel reinforcements in the cement floor. Exterior areas are naturally cooled and are additionally tempered with cooled air. This also provides a continual change of air for all athletes and for up to 10,000 spectators in the hall. The cooling system is driven by a 40.8 kW aggregate.
