The Waasland Tennis Centre in St. Niklaas was completed in 1977 according to plans by the architect Erik Verschragen, who emerged victorious with his draft from the European Architects Competition.
A special feature of the hall in lightweight construction design is the round roof with big window areas. In the spacious sports and leisure facility, some 2,200 m² of MULTIBETON underfloor heating in a 7 cm thick screed layer ensures that 3 inside tennis courts of the tennis club "De Jasmijn" can be used to play tennis all year round and that a snug temperature prevails during breaks in the restaurant. A gas heating system ensured the necessary energy.
