This parking garage in Cologne's Wolfstrasse was completely rennovated and modified in 2001-2002. The owner, Michael Sauer, had one whole story of office space built on top of the structure and then completed the building by crowning it with seven penthouse appartments. Moreover, two shops were also integrated into the ground floor area.
The facade is among the most spectular in Cologne: 6 gigantic wings (which were personally designed by Sauer whose leisure time is spent as a pilot) can be electrically adjusted to regulate sun and light. The floor heating system on the other hand is completely invisible: from MULTIBETON having 1300 m² MB screed system 17 which was installed by MB-Partner Wagner in the offices, shops and appartments. Invisible MULTIBETON floor heating sets the stage for creative architecture.
